CVBuilderKit AI

Import Your Resume — Free

One successful import and one useful AI review are free, once per verified App Store identity, including existing users. Import a PDF, photo, scan, or public link. Failed operations do not count. A delivered import draft counts even if you discard it; an empty review does not.

CVBuilderKit AI is an optional monthly subscription. The current local price is shown in the app and App Store purchase sheet before you subscribe. Further imports and reviews, plus tailored generation, use the monthly subscription allowance.

30 successful AI operations per billing month, shared across imports, reviews, and tailored generation. Unused operations do not roll over.

Manual editing, templates, iCloud sync, and unlimited PDF exports remain free. Your documents stay editable and exportable after cancellation or allowance exhaustion.

Open Settings > CVBuilderKit AI to restore purchases or manage your subscription with the same Apple Account. Reinstalling or using another device does not renew the free introduction. Canceling stops future renewals; paid access continues until the paid period ends. Refunds and revocations may end paid access earlier. During an Apple billing grace period, the current allowance stays available without resetting. Abuse limits are separate from your subscription.

Apple processes payments and refund requests. Deleting the app or its data does not cancel a subscription. Request refunds through reportaproblem.apple.com; eligibility is determined by Apple and applicable consumer law. No annual plan, credit packs, or automatically renewing free trial are offered at launch.

Troubleshooting & Knowledge Base

1. Start with Your Main Resume

Your Main Resume holds reusable career information and is an exportable document itself. Create one manually or choose Import Resume on Home. Use the Main Resume switcher to manage different career tracks.

2. Linked Copies & Protected Edits

Tailored resumes link directly to one Main Resume. Updates flow to fields that still use its values. Customized fields remain protected from later Main Resume updates.

3. Import a Resume

Choose Import Resume on Home or in the Main Resume switcher. Select a PDF, photos, a camera scan where supported, or an accessible public profile, website, or PDF link. Photos and scans are converted to a PDF on your device. Review page order before submitting.

Import requires internet access. Your PDF, or extracted web text and links, is sent to our service and its AI provider. Web page images are not uploaded; PDF links upload the original file. Pages requiring login or cookie consent may need a PDF instead.

Check the extracted draft, resolve highlighted incomplete fields, and choose Save Main Resume. This saves one Main Resume, ready to edit, export, or use for tailored copies. Imports are limited to 20 PDF pages and 10 MiB.

4. Review with AI

Choose AI Review Resume on Home and select a document, or use AI Review in the reader. Read the sharing explanation and submit. AI can improve supported wording, reorder entries, or exclude content in a new linked copy. Your original stays unchanged, and already excluded entries stay excluded.

Resume text and career details, including excluded entries as context, go to our service and its AI provider. Contact fields, photos, and links are omitted, but personal details inside descriptions are sent as written. Languages and certifications are preserved locally. If no changes or useful advice are returned, no copy is created.

5. Generate a Tailored Resume

Select your Main Resume on Home and choose Create Tailored Resume. Enter Company and Target Role, optionally paste a Job Description and Additional Instructions, then choose Generate. This form does not fetch a job URL.

AI considers your career content, including excluded Main Resume entries, to select, order, and tailor a new linked copy. Your Main Resume stays unchanged. Generation requires internet access and sends career content and targeting details to our service and its AI provider. Contact fields, photos, and links are omitted; personal details inside descriptions are sent as written.

Successful review and generation results open in the reader. Check all wording and facts, make any edits, and read the separate AI advice before sharing. Advice is never included in exported PDFs.

6. Troubleshooting Apple iCloud Sync

CVBuilderKit syncs automatically between your personal Apple devices (e.g. your iPhone and iPad) using Apple's secure CloudKit private database.

If your devices appear not to be synchronizing, check the following:

  1. Same Apple Account: Ensure all devices are signed into the same Apple Account in iOS Settings.
  2. iCloud Drive Enabled: On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud and verify that iCloud Drive is turned ON.
  3. Sync Status Indicator: Tap the cloud status on Home, or open Settings > Data & Sync > iCloud Sync for details:
    • Green status: Synced.
    • Rotating arrows: Checking or syncing.
    • Orange upload arrow: Local changes are waiting to sync.
    • Gray crossed-out cloud: The device is offline.
    • Orange account or lock icon: iCloud sign-in is needed or access is restricted.
    • Red cloud exclamation: A sync error needs attention; read the status details.
  4. Refresh Status: In the iCloud Sync details, tap Sync Changes Now when changes are pending, or Check Sync Status otherwise. This saves pending edits and refreshes status; iCloud controls when transfers complete.
  5. Background Refresh: In iOS Settings > CVBuilderKit, ensure Background App Refresh is enabled so silent sync notifications can process updates.

7. PDF Export, Page Sizes & Printing

All resumes in CVBuilderKit are rendered as publication-grade vector PDFs using native Apple graphics frameworks:

8. ATS (Applicant Tracking System) Compatibility

Recruiters use Applicant Tracking Systems (Workday, Taleo, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS) that automatically parse resumes into plain text:

9. Managing & Deleting Your Data

You can manage stored resumes in the app. Exported files and remote service records are managed separately:

Submitting a Bug Report or Feature Request:

When reporting an issue to support@cvbuilderkit.app, please include your device model (e.g. iPhone 16 Pro), iOS version (e.g. iOS 18.6), a brief description of the issue, and a screenshot if applicable. We take every user issue seriously!

Frequently Asked Support Questions

From Preview, tap the share icon and select AirDrop to send the PDF to your Mac, or choose Save to Files and select an iCloud Drive folder. The file becomes available on your other devices after iCloud finishes uploading it.

If a field was not edited inside the specific resume, it stays linked to your Main Resume. When you edit the Main Resume, those linked fields update automatically. To prevent a field from updating, simply edit it directly in the Resume Editor; it will be marked as an override and won't be modified by Main Resume updates.

Manual editing, customization, and PDF creation work offline. Import, AI review, and AI generation require an internet connection. iCloud synchronization resumes when connectivity and your iCloud account are available.
